I love this picture from Mike Mabes of a woman. It's called "Valparaiso, Chile". Valparaiso is best known as Paradise Valley. All this remind me of a Pablo Neruda's poem he wrotes for Matilde, his muse...
While I was glancing atKlara Landrat's mysterious portrait, from the serie’s Tallit, my feelings intersect with Chris Marker’s idea upon the magical fonction of the eyes.
This woman of a classical beauty from eastern Europe, who is she? Is she a mother, a daughter. The Time, or the representation of it? Does photographs have their whole lives before them? Is it a time defeated, or just moments suspended in time?
Klara Landrat was born in Warsaw, in 1977. She attended California College of Arts for photography, graduated in painting from Hunter College City University of New York. Her work has been shown in New York and also in museums in Europe. Klara Landrat lives between New York, Los Angeles and Tel Aviv.
